Θεός !!! Οι φωτογραφίες που έχω βάλει παραπάνω είναι από το γαμήλιο ταξίδι . Πήγαμε εκεί και εγώ έψαχνα τον τάφο του και όσα άλλα μπορούσα να βρω...
Αφού δεν με χώρισε και να με παρατήσει κει σα πάνου μόνο μου...

Θυμάμαι ήμουν γυρω στα 14-15 οπότε δεν μπορούσα να πάω Φιλαδέλφεια. Έτσι μου μεινε το απωθημένο ν ακούω ιστορίες από τους πιο μεγάλους (δηλαδη 2-3 χρόνια παραπάνω εννοώ) και να μην έχω ακουσει λαηβ τον Ρορυ. Φυσικά δεν θα μπορούσα να μην αράξω στο Rory Gallagher Corner πινοντας μια μπύρα από κάτω, όταν ταξίδεψα κάποτε στο Δουβλίνο.

Όμως μια μεγάλη έκπληξη την έφαγα κάπου το 2002 ή 2003, δεν θυμάμαι καλά.
Πρέπει να ήταν αρχές καλοκαιριού και πετυχαίνω μια αφίσα για μια εκδήλωση. Η αφίσα έλεγε για το 2nd European Blues Festival που θα γινόταν στο "Περασμα Φυτόκου" στο Βόλο. Το μόνο που ξεχώριζε στην αφίσα ήταν το κύριο όνομα του line up που -φυσικά- λεγόταν Bands of Friends of Rory Gallagher. Τότε φαντάστηκα πως θα ήταν καποια tribute band και θα παιζε κομμάτια του.

Όρεξη είχαμε τότε, το φεστιβαλ πρόσφερε κατασκήνωση, μάζεψα καμιά 15αριά ρεμάλια φίλους μου και τους έψησα ν ανέβουμε εκδρομή στο φεστιβάλ αυτό. Κανείς δεν είχε ξανακούσει το γκρουπ αυτό, κανείς δεν ήξερε που έπεφτε το πέρασμα Φυτόκου αλλά όλοι σκέφτονταν "πάλι μας τραβάει στο πουθενά ο μλκς!!!" για μένα. Παρόλα αυτά ήρθαν παρέα αφου ΣαββατοΚυριακό ήταν κι ηταν ευκαιρια να μαζευτούμε ν ακουσουμε καμια μπλουζια λαηβ.

Φτάσαμε σε κάποιο χώρο εξω από τη πόλη που δίπλα θυμαμαι ήταν/είναι ένα νεκροταφείο, ζέστη δεν είχε πολύ, ούτε κόσμο πολύ, άντε περίπου 100-200 άτομα στη μέση του πουθενά.
Αραχτοί σε μια καντίνα απόγευμα με δεκάδες μπύρες, βλέπαμε από μακριά τη σκηνή που ανέβαιναν τα γκρουπ για sound check.
"Ρε συ, ο μακένα δεν είναι αυτός?"
"Σώπα ρε, βλέπεις φαντασματα"!
"Κι αυτός με τον Μακαβόη μοιάζει"!

Μετα πολλά ήταν φυσικά οι band of friends μαζι ΚΑΙ οι δυο ντραμερ ο ted mckenna και ο brendan o neil και φυσικά όλοι οι 9 below zero.
Το τι έγινε τ αφήνω στη φαντασία σας γιατι μπορει να μασταν λίγοι εκείνη την στιγμή αλλά πρέπει να ομολογήσω πως ήταν μια απο τις καλύτερες εκδρομές/συναυλίες που έχω πετύχει, παρόλο που το μόνο που έλειπε ήταν ο Ρορυ φυσικά.

Για την ιστορία, ποτε δεν έμαθα αν έγινε και που το 1st European Blues Festival αλλά σίγουρα τα επόμενα χρόνια δεν έγινε 3ο, 4ο ή 5ο!

ΥΓ: Μπραβο για το θεμα που έχετε ανοιξει, δεν περίμενα να είναι πολλοι όσοι επιμενουμε ν ακουμε Rory.

Η χαμένη συνέντευξη του Γιάννη Πετρίδη με τον Rory Gallagher το 1981...​

41 χρόνια πριν...
Ο φίλος της εκπομπής Στέλιος Αποστολόπουλος, μας έστειλε την συνέντευξη που είχε πάρει ο Γιάννης από τον Rory τον Σεπτέμβριο του 1981 στην επίσκεψη του στην εκπομπή μας στην ΕΡΤ.
Η ποιότητα της ηχογράφησης δεν είναι και η καλύτερη, έγινε μεταγραφή από κασέτα της εποχής, αλλά έχει την αξία της.

Η απόλυτη δικαίωση για τον Rory Gallagher, η αναγνώριση από μεγάλους κιθαρίστες​

Από τους σημαντικότερους κιθαρίστες της γενιάς του, ο Rory Gallagher έχει αναγνωρισθεί πια σαν ένας καλλιτέχνης που επηρέασε μεγάλα ονόματα του ροκ.

Πριν από ένα χρόνο περίπου, είχε κυκλοφορήσει μια ειδική έκδοση σε 3 cd με ανέκδοτο υλικό του σε ποσοστό 92% και συνεργασίες του με ονόματα όπως οι Muddy Waters και Albert King.

Όλα τα τραγούδια θα έχουν σχέση με το μπλουζ, γι' αυτό και το άλμπουμ θα έχει τίτλο The Blues.

Αξέχαστες στιγμές για το ροκ

Ο βραβευμένος με Όσκαρ Σκηνοθέτης, Murray Lerner εξερευνά το σημαντικό ροκ συγκρότημα «Taste» της Ιρλανδίας με αόρατα πλάνα από το τρίο τώρα θρυλική παράσταση στο Isle Of Wight Festival 1970.
